Talk about video on demand.... CERN particle physics laboratory researchers in Switzerland shattered the old record for high-speed data transfer October 1, sending the equivalent of a full DVD movie to the California Institute of Technology (CalTech) in seven seconds -- an average data rate of 5.44 gigabits per second (the old record was 2.38 Gbps, set in February 2003).
