Technion-Israel Institute of Technology researchers have devised a method for compensating for "backscatter" of light under water. They believe an in-camera microprocessor can process different objects in an underwater photograph using different algorithms resulting in a picture that is "normalized" and much clearer. I want this build into my underwater camera phone within five years, OK?
