Computer Analysis Says Chavez Referendum in Venezuela Wasn't Rigged

Propellerheads from Princeton and Johns Hopkins University have run data from the recent referendum on the rule of Hugo Chavez through special software analysis which revealed that Venezuela legitimately endorsed his continued rule. They shouldn't have, but they did.

New Software Makes Underwater Photos 'Dramatically Better'

Technion-Israel Institute of Technology researchers have devised a method for compensating for "backscatter" of light under water. They believe an in-camera microprocessor can process different objects in an underwater photograph using different algorithms resulting in a picture that is "normalized" and much clearer. I want this build into my underwater camera phone within five years, OK?

Nokia Secretly Working On 'Treo Killer' Phone In Labs?

An A.G. Edwards analyst report speculated that Nokia might be working on a phone/PDA/camera combo designed to compete with the mighty Treo 600 and its yet-unreleased successor, the Treo 650. The mere speculation caused palmOne shares to drop a whopping 11% Tuesday.
