A University of Michigan study shows that people who use broadband internet connections tend to be more "social" and know more about irrelevant topics like celebrity gossip and entertainment than those who use dial-up. They do not, however, know more about politics, according to the study. They also discovered that broadband users have faster connections... ; )
A Digital Camera ... For Your Dog

Only in Japan: Toy maker TOMY has introduced a digital camera for your dog. The device, called the "Wonderful Shot" camera, does not require opposable thumbs, and hangs from your pet's collar. You actually snap the pictures with a remote control. So what do you do with all those pooch pics? A photo blog (called a Doggy Diary), of course! A word of warning, however. Once he tries a camera, he's going to want a cell phone.

Don't Try This At Home: Virtual Windows

If you don't have a nice view, now you can make your own (although it might be cheaper just to move to a better house...). One LCD enthusiast has created "virtual windows" using eight LCD screens installed in a window sill. The slogan for his "Virtual Window Project?": "Where do you want to live today?"

Mini Cooper Robot Hoax Revealed

I told you March 16 about a web site that appears to show a giant robot built from Mini Cooper parts. My take on it was that it was a very sophisticated hoax by Mini Cooper, and probably also associated with the then-upcoming movie "I, Robot," which was marketed with other hoax web sites. Now the creators of the hoax have come clean and said it was in fact a marketing hoax by the Mini Cooper people.
